October brings a little magic to the Northern Michigan woods, scattering the forest floor with a rainbow of autumn color. Inspired by a trailside photograph, this painting captures a fleeting moment among the fallen leaves, where familiar shades of gold and russet mingle with delicate blue mold, a purple viburnum leaf, and stray pine needles. It’s a small gathering of woodland treasures, each with its own bit of autumn character.
