We all recognize and appreciate Monarch caterpillars.  Their bold coloring tells predators they are unpoaleteable at best and posionous at worst, helping them to avoid being eaten.  After feeding on milkweed, they pupate into one of our most loved butterflies making them a joy to find in any garden.
