This is something we've heard from a few friends recently. While we applaud our friends' for making decisions that will make them happy, we couldn't imagine the living somewhere without four seasons. It's spring right now and we wouldn't miss it for the world. It's such a busy time of year with working on work, projects and mostly....gardens.
Beds to turn, plants to plant, seedlings to move in and out of the garage every morning and night keeps us pretty busy. But every now and then you have a moment to stretch and look around. Spring doesn't hesitate to amaze. From the ferns unfurling to the quick and somewhat tentative visit from the year's first hummingbird, it's simply the most vibrant time of the year. It warmed up for us for the first time so it is wonderful to be outdoors. It's not lazy summer days just yet but it will be soon! In the meantime, we're going to keep working hard on getting these projects done and making sure to take a moment here and there to enjoy all the abundance of this time of year.
Again, we applaud our friends who are escaping the cold of the winter in the North but we really couldn't go without the sharp demarcation of seasons because every one has something amazing to celebrate. You're always looking forward to the next one. We have 12 months in a year, four distinct seasons and we love each one. From the first migratory birds highlighted against the new growth of spring, to the icy cold blue days in February, each season has different highlights and we couldn't be happier with those differences.
