Turkeys!

We're so lucky to have some frequent backyard visitors. Our turkey friends come all fall and winter for birdseed

and some corn I put out for them. The flock is mostly hens and chicks all summer and fall and they don't spend a lot of time with us each day, they basically just move through. The squirrels and chickadees keep the ground pretty seed free. But in the spring, the big male Tom turkeys come in and spend some time displaying in the back yard. There just isn't anything I've ever seen that's half as pretty and she shimmery sheen of colors on the tom turkeys in the spring.
